Greenery

Anything green is growing in profusion at the moment in Kyoto. The Philosopher's Path is barely visible beneath the leafy boughs:

The plant outside our dining room window has practically doubled in size:

The trees on the hill overlooking our neighborhood have developed new canopies in a variety of hues:

Yesterday when Sage went to unlock her bicycle, she noticed that a tiny vine had entwined itself around one of her spokes. We gently removed it and went for a bike ride around the neighborhood. When we went out again this morning, the vine had grown back overnight and entwined itself around another spoke!

Sage picking out a plant at a local store for an upcoming school project that involves making a terrarium:

Negotiating a low-leaning tree while biking along a canal:

  1. So pretty and green! That vine that kept wrapping around Sage's bicycle spoke is an example of how plants are living things. (Now I understand why Prince Charles talked to his plants!)
