Last Post (!?)

As we approach three months from our departure from Japan, I am bringing this blog to a close. This will be the 365th and final post. The blog will remain online for the foreseeable future, and it may be that I will add the occasional extra post some time in the future, or go back and edit some of the existing posts.

On the unquantifiable side, the blog has provided me with an excellent excuse to record and organize our family's experiences during our time in Kyoto, to formulate some thoughts on what it is like to be immersed in a new culture, and to share some of the many photos I took. This was as much a personal travel journal as anything else, but it was also great to be able to share it with others and to use it as a means of connecting with family and friends and updating them about what we were up to.
